Pasadena Community Gardens’ mission is to create eco-friendly, edible, and sustainable public community gardens in Pasadena—tranquil locations in which Pasadenans can, for a nominal annual cost, grow fresh and pesticide-free vegetable, fruit, herbs, and flowers in their own garden bed.
All Pasadena residents are invited to become a member of Pasadena Community Gardens located on Pasadena Avenue, across the street from Huntington Hospital. Anyone interested in becoming a member must attend one of the two meetings to be held this weekend. Garden member selection will be on a first come/first served basis for those who return their applications within the specified time.
Information about volunteering and donating will be given and the garden organizers will conduct a visit to the garden site.
The gardens will be well-managed and serve as platforms from which the organization can educate garden members and the general community about topics such as gardening, environmental conservation, wise water use, sustainable native planting, and the importance of fresh, healthy foods.
