A Noise Within, Southern California’s only classical theater repertory company, opens its 19th and final season in Glendale with Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, which is the one about the dramatic founding of the Viennese Department of Weights and Measures. In the fine tradition of Baz Luhrmann et al, they have set the play in the present, though we’re fairly certain everybody will still talk like a 17th-century English person. It is ANW’s final season in Glendale because, as theater fans and regular readers no doubt already know, they are moving to East Pasadena, assuming they raise that last $3,000,000. The production runs through December.
