Sniff, Sip & Swish at Everson Royce

Sep 6, 2015

600px-Vin_blanc_secImagine that with every second sip, you’re making a donation. This is because over 50% of the event ticket price to the 2nd Annual Wine Tasting at Everson Royce will benefit Five Acres, which for 127 years has been working so children may have safe, loving, and permanent homes.

April, Clement, and Capella of Everson Royce will open their wine store for an evening with tastings, cheese, charcuterie, and chocolate, to which we respond:

Wine tasting? We consider it a solemn duty to continue our education of the fermented grape.

Cheese, did someone mention cheese? Enough said.

Charcuterie? We’re imaging silky proscuitto, delicate bresaola, and spicy capicola paired with St. Marcellin cheese and a sip of…hmmm…a syrah?

Whatever Everson Royce pours into a glass or serves on a platter, when wine, cheese, and meats are on the menu, it’s hard for us to stay away. (And it’s for a good cause.)

There are over 100,000 children in the foster care system in the United States. Over half of those children are in California—56,000 in all. Almost 50% of these kids in California are age five and under. Five Acres strives to help families in crisis and creating a sense of belonging and safety for children, whether that is in their original home or in a new one.
