pasadena_slide_01Love volunteering? Training? Taking action? Helping women reach their potential?

The Junior League of Pasadena holds an open house on August 9th where interested parties may meet current members, ask questions, learn about volunteer projects run in partnership with local nonprofits. Some projects “focus on girls’ health and wellness, art education in Pasadena schools, family literacy, and Alzheimer’s care.

Jr. League of Pasadena has many fundraising opportunities that over the years have included the Frivolous Follies, the June Jubilee, the Circus Under the Big Top, and the Chocolate Ball.

All members are welcome to join the Garden Club that has “six exciting and unique programs to share.‚Ķevents are informal, fun, and a great source of ideas for the novice and expert gardener alike.”

Some of their yearly events include Kids in the Kitchen, a Valentine’s Day tea party, “Simply Speaking,” and the Jacob Maarse Annual Holiday Shopping Event. “Done in a Day” events are one-day volunteer projects such as beach cleanup with Heal the Bay, collecting school supplies, and arranging literacy coaches for Mother’s Club Family Learning Center.
