A new venture sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the South Pasadena Eclectic Music Festival and Art Walk arrives this weekend, and it is just the type of thing we need right about now. Filled with free live music at three festival areas, exhibitions in nine art galleries and open houses at many shops, the evening is a first-time event that seems quite likely to become an annual happening.
Performers include singer/songwriters Stan Ridgway, Severin Browne and Roger Nolan; jazz combos the Eric Patterson Quartet and Cynthia Speer Quartet; and bluegrass/Americana bands I See Hawks in L.A. and Son Ark. Sustenance will come from such local mainstays as Mamma’s, Gus’s Barbeque, Patakan, San Antonio Winery and Angel City Brewery. And you can bust the recession with ArtBuck coupons, which will be honored at boutiques and shops along Mission Street for discounts and free gifts.
You’ll find more information on participating businesses and the musical lineup on the South Pas Chamber’s website.
