Karen Karbo on Georgia O’Keeffe at Vroman’s

Nov 7, 2011

Karen Karbo

Georgia O’Keeffe. All those flowers, all those skulls. A great American artist. And, in Karen Karbo’s new book, a model, maybe, for living as a woman today. How Georgia Became O’Keeffe: Lessons on the Art of Living is a non-traditional biography; each chapter is built around a facet of life that concerns women of all ages and places. Universal themes: discovering and nurturing individuality, maintaining independence within a committed relationship, taking risks. Karbo digs into O’Keeffe’s long and interesting life and finds wise things to say about all these subjects. She’ll be at Vroman’s this Thursday to talk about them.
