Who is this Rae Troutfish person, you ask? Why, only the most recent winner of the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, for her collection Versed, which, I assure you, is really, really good. She’ll be reading Monday the 7th at the very spiffy Boston Court, along with the multi-talented Charles Harper Webb, a fixture on the LA poetry scene, and John Barr, President of the Poetry Foundation and author of the recently released The Hundred Fathom Curve, published by Red Hen Press. Charles, too, has a Red Hen collection: Amplified Dog.
Why all this talk about Red Hen, besides the fact that I work there, and it’s awesome? Because they’re sponsoring the event, along with the Poetry Society of America. It’s going to be lots of fun. You should come. Say hi. I’ll be the one in awe of Rae Armantrout.
