The upcoming “Made in L.A.,” a biennial exhibit featuring young and under-recognized Los Angeles artists, will help prove the point that the Eastside has emerged as a magnet for artists of all kinds. Of the 60 artists participating in the show organized by the Hammer Museum and L.A. Art, more than 40% live and or work in Eastside neighborhoods. For example  Lisa Williamson, who works in sculpture, video and other media, resides in Echo Park and works in Lincoln Heights; painter Pearl C. Hsiung of Mount Washington works in Glassell Park; Math Bass, who creates sculptural and performance pieces, calls Historic Filipinotown home.

Barnsdall Art Park in Los Feliz will serve as one of three venues for “Made in L.A.,”which opens June 2. But be warned: some of the Eastside artists will also be displayed in the Westside of town at the Hammer Museum in Westwood. Click on the link below of artists with Eastside connections:
