Stuff White People Like… in Pasadena

Nov 22, 2010

A Moleskine journal is one of the things L.A. white people like.

Christian Lander, author of the hit blog-turned-book Stuff White People Like, and his buddy Alex Blagg, have a new series of book-trailer videos to promote Lander’s new book, Whiter Shade of Pale. In the trailers, as in the book, the two dudes visit various American cities to see what the particular white people in those cities like. Their L.A. visit is set largely in, of course, a Prius, and their focus is, surprisingly, on Pasadena. Their ultimate quarry is an object at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, and along the way they appear to visit Old Pasadena and its Intelligentsia Coffee, as well as the Kogi BBQ truck. Although we’re pretty sure the Intelligentsia is not the one in Pasadena—it looks suspiciously like Venice. And the Kogi truck appears to be parked outside the Brig in Venice, too. Oh well, at least they found Pasadena cool enough to pretend to set the video there.

Anyway, it’s pretty amusing. Take a look:

Awesome. Of course, right before I checked out your site, I opened a new Firefox tab with the Kogi schedule. I hope to head over to their truck later this week in my Prius. But I don’t wear Ray-Bans…just Brighton sunglasses. Which would probably make these guys laugh even more.
