Rainbow Wow

Published: Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

rainbow pasadena 630x399 Rainbow WowNeighbors were shouting to neighbors and cell phones were ringing furiously late yesterday as a truly spectacular rainbow appeared in Pasadena and Altadena. (And not just here — my daughter was at the upper campus of Immaculate Heart High School in the Los Feliz hills and said everyone on campus and at neighboring AFI had rushed out to see a fully arced rainbow across L.A.)

Anyway, this was the view from our office, looking past Art Center north toward Altadena. Wish I’d had a better camera on hand, and the lighting skill to use it right. The colors were intense and almost electric against the dusk. This doesn’t do it justice, but it keeps it alive a bit longer.

I was in North Hollywood right off the 134 and it was the brightest rainbow I have ever seen. There was an official page to the office to look out the window. It was amazing.

  2. You’re rite about cameras not dong justice to the subjects we shoot.
It’s nice to see a couple of local blogger’s caught the rainbow. Maybe I should post my rainbow on my blog.

it was a double in LA but a single out my back door in Altadena…and the forward light from the ocean, golden and amazing. better than Hawaii!
