Local watercolorist Kathleen Swaydan is holding her 3rd Annual Open Studio Holiday Art Sale event this weekend. For viewing and holiday shopping opportunities, sixteen artists will exhibit their assemblages, ceramics, paintings, photography, collage, handcrafted jewelry, and hair adornments constructed with vintage millinery, as well as clothing made with vintage fabrics and trim.
“We are a group of artists who, for the most part, met at the Gallery at the End of the World in Altadena. After the gallery closed in December of 2010, I decided to bring a handful of artists together in a smaller, studio atmosphere show,” explains Swaydan.
Artists include Nina Ehlig of Tarnished Scorpio with her “personal art adornments,” Annie Fourgette with her photography (of which we’re hoping she’ll be exhibiting examples from her Gull Cottage collection—photographs of seabirds accented with neon), and assemblage and collages by Kate Carvellas.
