To spread the visual merriment of the holiday season, here are some scenes we saw around town…

A friend of ours who is Catholic laments the lack of crèche displayed nowadays. We found a couple…

The above mini-crèche with Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and Rudolph is part of a much, much larger display…

This home looks, and feels, like it’s raining lights…

We apologize to Bruin fans, but we love the cabin-like feel to this home—and the cute display…

And just because… here are a few pictures inside our home.

Every year, we try to sift through our ornaments as the annual tree can no longer hold our collection.

(Try is the key word here; maybe even “halfheartedly try.”)

With the overflow, we end up hanging ornaments on walls and placing them on shelves along with larger pieces.

Yes, we like Santa… and reindeer…

Our new cat, Finn—who Hometown Pasadena reader and local event planner Nikki Parrish found in her rosemary bush along with several kitty brothers and sisters this past spring—has found a new favorite place… under the Christmas tree.

Whether the holidays mean celebrating Christmas, Chanukah, Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, Mawlid an-Nabī, Boxing Day, or they are simply a reason to gather with family, catch up with friends, give and receive lots of hugs, laugh out loud and cry a little too, eat too much food, imbibe a little too often, go see Star Wars for the 12th time, or watch scads of football games… Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Here’s to a joyful, creative, fun, successful, fulfilling, and peaceful 2016.

Best wishes,

Hometown Pasadena
