“Magical Synergy” – Beata Bermuda

Jun 4, 2017

Three violins. Three voices. A Swedish trio called Beata Bermuda performs at Skandia Hall on June 9.

Beata Bermuda is three women who sing original songs as well as 100-year-old music, both contemporary and traditional folk music. This event in Pasadena is the last stop on Beata Bermuda’s first American tour that spanned the length of California.

“Samantha Ohlanders, Linnea Aall Campbell, and Hanna Andersson met as students while attending the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, where their focus became the Fiddle.”¹

“The group uses their violins in a very exciting way that definitely gives a taste for both traditional folk music and its fusion with modern indie and singer/songwriter tradition.”
—Maria Dahlström, Hela Hälsingland / Sweden

“An exquisite musical potpourri; sometimes soulfully imploring, sometimes intimate and humble, sometimes wildly uninhibited, but mostly with an idyllic serenity that seems to have sprung from the quiet winter landscape of their homeland.”
—Neal Graham, General-Anzeiger / Germany

“Unbounded energy and verve.”
—Steve Ono, Fresno Folklore Society / California, USA

The evening begins with a sit-down concert by Beata Bermuda. Afterwards, the floor is cleared for dancing, so polish up on your waltz, schottische, and polska!
