The weekend of December 14th abounds with holiday concerts and we’re here to break them down, so that you may distinguish, choose, buy tickets (where applicable), and mark your calendar.
Pasadena Symphony & Pops
Grant Cooper conducts the L.A. Children’s Chorus, L.A. Bronze (Handbell Choir), The Donald Brinegar Singers, and vocalist Lisa Vroman in “an array of choruses of traditional and diverse holiday melodies performed by candlelight…in the architecturally exquisite and acoustically sonorous All Saint’s Church.
Angeles Chorale – Divine Joy
Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (Part 1), a cantata composed specially for Christmas Day, is “a work capturing moments of jubilant hope and gentle peace,” will be performed by Angeles Chorale, along with Christmas carols, holiday favorites, and “angelic melodies.” The evening, directed by Dr. John Sutton, will even include a sing-along. Families are welcome, children ages 7 and up.
Angeles Chorale’s Holiday Sing Along at Disney Hall with Julie Andrews is on December 21st.
Candlelight & Carols
All choirs, instruments, and organ will participate in the 68th edition of this annual Pasadena and PPC holiday tradition, which will also include plenty of audience caroling. A dessert reception follows the concert.
