There’s a lot of numbers here, but Day One Pasadena is a community-based nonprofit that strives to build “vibrant, healthy cities by advancing public health, empowering youth, and igniting change.” They are celebrating 20 years of Youth Month with Block9.
Block9 is a nine day series with free activities and events attempting “to make Pasadena a little nicer, one block at a time.”
The activities began August 1st with 15 tons of sand and their “urban beach,” followed by a Pachanga Night, a community summit, and a “Gospel Brunch.”
Block9 is supported by Side Street Projects, the Armory, Art Center, Light Bringer Project, Sparc, Conscientous Projector, the City of Pasadena, and many other notable organizations.
