An outdoor stage at The Pasadena Playhouse will feature Dread Zeppelin, Cerny Brothers, Shillaly Brothers, and Aquarius—all free concerts.
The Cherry Boom Boom dancers will be doing their 60s-style dancing in the evening hours, while Stone Brewing Company will be presiding over the beer garden (beer, wine, and concessions). Nibbles and eats can be bought from the many food trucks on hand and Zona Rosa will be hosting live music, a rock ‘n’ roll-themed art gallery and selling coffee drinks.
Little Junebugs will be on hand with face painting and “Crafty Bingo” from 1-5 p.m., and “Adult Crafting Cork Art” (18 and older, $15 admission charge) from 6-9 p.m.
One Night with Janis Joplin, created, written, and directed by Randy Johnson and which stars Mary Bridget Davies, is a “full-on concert experience and musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s greatest legends.”
Joplin’s 1965 365c Porsche Cabriolet—that she bought for $3,500 in 1968 and had friend Dave Richards paint psychedelic colors, for $500—will be on display this Sunday along with other classic Porsches. For a charitable donation, attendees will be able to have themselves photographed with Janis’ ride.
Sunday, March 17th, 1-10 p.m.
The Pasadena Playhouse, 39 S. El Molino Ave., in front of the theater
