Shopping Galore At Jackalope Arts

Apr 23, 2017

It’s year two of the Jackalope Art Fair spring event. Over the weekend, April 29-30, Sara Vausbinder once again gathers over 200 vendors for a “weekend shopping destination.”

Artists, artisans, and crafters present home decor, housewares, art and photography, fashion and jewelry, and ceramics and paper goods.

Jackalope Arts is a fun way to spend a few hours on a weekend—Central Park is lovely and spacious, surrounded by wonderful eateries, and just a short walk from Old Pasadena.

How about some accessory alchemy? Industrial, Victorian, and whimsical elements are used to create jewelry and accessories as art: hot air balloon and iridescent hummingbird feather necklaces; a milliamperes gauge and gears as pendants, and typewriter key earrings.

For the home, stop by Borusky Woodworks, Concrete Wonders, and Grit Aesthetic. Show the family dog some love with a new bed by Barkiture.

Fun for the kids may be found at Amazing Capes, BlissBaby, and Misfit Menagerie.

Visit the Downtown Women’s Center booth to find handmade items created in collaboration between DWC program participants and community artists. In purchasing DWC’s handmade products, Jackalope attendees can directly contribute to breaking the cycles of chronic unemployment and homelessness for women in the Skid Row community.

Donations will be accepted at the information booth and the DWC booth to benefit the Downtown Women’s Center.

Be one of the first 25 people to check in at the information booth (both Saturday and Sunday) and receive a grab bag of vendor swag.

Jackalope Art Fair is good for all ages and the venue is dog-friendly.
