A true community bookstore, this place is owned by Maureen Palacios, who seems to know every customer personally – and every book, too. Her store isn’t large, so she chooses the titles carefully. So even though much of the store is devoted to children’s books, adults will find lots of great reads, with particularly good choices in new fiction, politics, culture, humor and nonfiction. Fountain-pen owners (we know you’re out there!), take note of the excellent and well-priced selection of inks. The children’s events, like the teddy-bear picnic in honor of Corduroy’s 40th birthday, are swell.
