At this revered store (which longtime locals still call “Sonnie’s,” a name dating from when four shops occupied this space), the style is unstructured and comfortable, with soft, flowing jackets, long skirts, pants, T-shirts, jewelry and accessories. Many of the pieces are particularly great for travel, because they pack well and can handle wrinkles. Clothing highlights include the Victorian-inspired pieces by Cynthia Ashby; Citron; Jaskar; elegant embroidered silks from URU; and Biya coats. Great sales.
Staples: Shoes that manage to be both fashion-forward and comfortable (no easy feat, excuse the pun); great gift jewelry; kicky coats in winter; great special-occasion dresses.
Don’t Miss: The sales in January and June. They are amazing: shoes for $10, silk jackets for $20, adorable coats for $40.
We Like: It’s the very rare store where a high school girl, her mom and her grandmother can all find something fabulous to wear.
