Sue Stranger’s remarkable shop is like other upscale home-gift stores in some respects, but in others it is in a class by itself. Stranger mixes old and new and traditional and funky to great effect, so it seems like of course the best way to display $30 handmade earrings is on an exquisite $500 Ming ceramic sculpture. She showcases Mexican ceramics, Vietri tableware, blessing bottles, her own (wonderful) jewelry, tweedy horse gifts (horses being big in this neighborhood) and many more such things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them.
