“Bored with retirement?” asks Dennis McCarthy (L.A. Daily News). “Got too much time on your hands? Go see Buddy Powell. There’s never a dull moment in his classroom.”

Buddy Powell, who has performed in over a 100 commercials, is credentialed in adult education and has been teaching commercial acting for 10 years. Starting on Tuesday, October 9th and continuing for 10-weeks, his senior commercial class emphasizes “developing the individual’s unique qualities, understanding particular type, and strengthening confidence.”

Students are invited to perform regularly on videotape and classes include review of the history of the television commercial; teaching the basics of acting and instilling the tools required; and explanation of the audition process, agency representation, and electronic casting.

Powell states that “baby boomers and seniors 60+ currently comprise the largest demographic of consumers in the United States,” so who better to sell them a product than their peers!

The next session begins Tuesday, October 9th. Classes are held at the Pasadena Senior Center (85 E. Holly St.).
