Jury Duty Walkabout

May 28, 2014

IMG_1608We’ve drawn jury duty. Two and a half days later and we’re sitting on a jury, a civil trial that may go nine working days. At the rate we’re going, all the jurors are mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially preparing themselves for longer.

One perk: an hour and a half lunch, during which we’ve walked twice to Little Tokyo for a delicious sandwich (yes, we know), then had to hoof it back uphill, quickly, in order to wait an extra 20 minutes past lunch hour before court resumed, and walking the length of the new Grand Park that runs four blocks from North Grand Avenue to North Spring Street.

Here are some of the sites:

The angles and how the building reflects light in various weather conditions made us trigger happy…

Kat, the cafeteria at the Cathedral is really good. When i was on jury duty i sued to go there for lunch.

  4. My husband had duty this week, too, but wasn’t selected. Apparently he went in a different direction for lunch. I love how you used it as an opportunity.
