It’s All About the Fiction We Live

Feb 17, 2015

Tina_WallinSincere thanks to photographer Tina Wallin for sharing her art with us…

My choice of subject comes from a place of intuition and is fueled by an impetuous desire to partake in the stories that are unfolding around me. I look for subject matter or stories that are not at first obvious and are uncommon in the common.

Ultimately, photography is not just a record of a physical presence but a documentation of the encounter and emotion that is provoked within me and the subject before me. The process and end result are pure and not manipulated.  Whatever the subject matter, I rely on my vision, physically and mentally, as a means to document what I want to preserve, engage, or share with the world.

I began my photography education in 2003, completing a BA in Art History in 2010. In 2005, I received an honorable mention from Chaffey Community College for my series titled “Mad World”. I exhibit my work in local galleries and have worked as an Assistant Curator at One Leaf Fine Art Gallery and Phyllis Stein Art Gallery in Los Angeles. Since 2008, I have been curating monthly exhibits for the Altadena Library District. I currently live and work in Altadena, California.
