As part of ArtNight in Pasadena, a remarkable quartet of young musicians who call themselves Solstice will be performing at a free concert in Old Pasadena early Saturday evening. (We know, ArtNight is a Friday-night event, but this fall it seems to have expanded to meander over three days.) The kids are all students at the Pasadena Jazz Institute, a nonprofit program of classes and camps for young musicians. They’re also part of the institute’s Junior Jazz All Stars.
If you miss the boys this weekend, not to worry: You can catch them the last Tuesday of each month at Redwhite+bluezz, the swinging restaurant, wine bar and jazz club in Old Pasadena.
