Saturday at Vroman’s Hastings Ranch, Katie the mad scientist invites little mad scientists ages 4-10 to participate in her mad experiments like Frankenstein’s Hand, See-Through Egg, and Underwater Volcano.

We spoke to “Dr.” Katie personally and she said she’ll also share with her little mad scientists-in-training how to sink a marshmellow in H²0.

Additionally, Katie will be making rock candy, because experimenting burns a lot of energy!

They’re described as “soulful music with percussion…more Otis Redding than Alvin and the Chipmunks.”

It’s Rhythm Child drumming, a lively, joyful and interactive experience created by Norm and Heather Jones, along with their children Bailey and Andre. Since 2003 when they began, Rhythm Child has attraction attention and garnished numerous awards. In 2011, they were invited to the White House for the annual Easter Egg Roll and helped First Lady Michelle Obama spread her message of a healthy and active lifestyle.

“If my music can allow parents to forget for a moment that they are listening to their child’s CD, yet it still encourages their kids to stay engaged emotionally with the songs, then I am truly a fulfilled artist.” (Norm Jones)
