Just as the Pasadena Jaycees are looking for volunteers to read and sort the letters to Santa, remember that kids have to write to Santa!
The stipulations are as follows: the letter must be legible (good luck) and in the child’s own words (no coaching). Letters should be mailed to Santa Claus who currently resides at 474 W. Walnut Street, Pasadena CA 91103.
For Christmas trees and their lights, the Jaycees, Pasadena Star-News, and One Colorado present their annual tree-lighting ceremony—which is free to the public—this Friday, November 23rd at 6 p.m.
Complimentary cookies and hot cocoa will be offered afterwards while Roland & Adriane “delight the crowd with mellifluous and melodic musings.”
Attendees who bring an unwrapped toy for the Charles Cherniss Tournament of Toys drive will get a free photo with Santa (and these are the toys that the Jaycee’s Operation Santa will be handing out on Christmas Eve; see “Good Deeds“).
Pasadena Star-News public editor Larry Wilson now runs ToT and states that checks are also welcome as they allow toys to be bought in bulk. If you can’t attend Friday’s event, feel free to mail a check to Tournament of Toys, c/o Larry Wilson, Pasadena Star-News, 911 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena CA 91106.
From November 24th through December 24th, Santa will be on hand for photo sessions. For hours and cost, visit One Colorado.
On December 13th, kids can bring their pets and get photographed with Santa. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA.
