Artemis Fowl II, in addition to being an Irish teenage criminal mastermind, is the protagonist of his own series of novels, written by Eoin Colfer. The seventh in the series, Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex, has just been released, and Colfer is going on a whizbang tour to promote it. Instead of the usual staid children’s book reading, Colfer will be hosting a multimedia stage show, with music, comedy and an interview with Artemis Fowl himself. Vroman’s, mover and shaker that it is, has arranged a special sneak preview performance of the show, to be held at the Pasadena Playhouse this coming Wednesday. Tickets are $18, and include the book. Additional tickets without the book are available for $10. It could be quite a show: anyone who says of their own children’s book series that it’s “Die Hard with fairies” must be a character.
