Pasadena’s 127th birthday is on June 22nd. The Pasadena Museum of History and the City of Pasadena will be hosting a free community celebration with the theme “Celebrating Bridges.”

The Happy Birthday Pasadena Committee invites high school students who live or study in Pasadena to grab their cameras and snap pics of bridges in Pasadena and the surrounding areas (excluding the Colorado Street Bridge).

The committee is looking in particular for unique points of view, “so don’t be afraid to be different.”

Eduardo Conseugra (artist/exhibition designer, PMH), Jim Staub (photo specialists, Caltech), and Francis M. Woods (President, Pasadena Society of Artists) will be judging the entrants.

First prize: $200; second prize, $100; and third prize, $50. Winning photos and runners-up will be displayed at Happy Birthday Pasadena on June 22nd at Pasadena Museum of History. Photos selected for exhibition must be printed and matted by the photographers.

Interested students, please submit a jpeg of your photograph to: by the entry deadline of May 3rd. Winners will be notified on June 3rd via email.

For additional info, please call 626.577.1660, ext. 15.
