A variety of hybrid cars and bicycles may be seen and ogled at a “clean air” show and workshops on yard design and turf rebates (for South Pas residents) and water wise plants and irrigating them efficiently will be sprinkled throughout the day.
Participants include West Coast Arborists, experts in tree maintenance, and South Pasadena Beautiful, a local nonprofit that presents a yearly garden tour as well as tree plantings, replacement, median upgrades, and clean up.
If exercise is appealing, health and fitness vendors will have booths and attendees may participate in the “Greenest Fastest Mile” race. Get ready, as the first start time isn’t until 3 p.m. and the temperature on the 2oth is forecast to peak in the 90s with 59% humidity. For us, these stats are an invitation to “pass” the ice cold lemonade, please, though we’re sure for others this hot, semi-sticky situation will be a call to action.
Families, friends, buddies, and lovers are welcome to bring a picnic for an early dinner and stay to watch the nine-piece band Retro Soul performing retro funk and featuring vocalists Michelle Hernandez and Michael Washington. They are a part of South Pasadena’s Summer Concerts series that continues on July 27th with the country band Pacific Rose and concludes on August 3rd with the Susie Hansen Band (Latin).
