It’s not bloomin’ cherries as in cherries off the vine, freshly pressed in juice, or tucked between flaky, buttery crusts. It’s the Cherry Blossom Festival at Descanso Gardens and the beauty and aroma may make you swoon!
Tree after tree will be popping with pink cherry blossoms. But that’s not all. The magnolia trees are in the bloom and the daffodils and tulips are popping, as well as clivia, camellias, and irises.
This is an extremely popular festival—because the grounds of Descanso are magical this time of year—so the festival now requires reservations in advance. Many times and dates have already been filled.
Take a look at availability for dates and times here.
If you’re a member, admission is free. There is also a member preview day on March 3 and priority for reservations. An annual membership for two costs $70, while a family of 4 costs $80, though Family Plus is $150 (and, obviously, offers more goodies). Find more information about becoming a member here.
The festival offers a cherry tree sale, cherry blossom walks, cherry tree learning and exploration tables, origami classes, the Camellia Lounge, and live music.
