How colorless the world would be without all that.
If you are of the same ilk, then pull up your mobile calendar and set the date for the Arboretum’s annual Amazing Plants Tour.
On June 11, Frank McDonough guides guests throughout the park (yes, it feels like a park to us; a gloriously mammoth park), pointing out the most exotic, weirdest, and oldest plants in the Arboretum.
Saturday, June 11th, 11 a.m.-noon. Free with admission.
Ferns and exotic plants are on view and wishing to be purchased and brought home to your garden (which only makes sense; of course they are!) at the Fern Festival on June 11 and 12, thanks to the L. A. International Fern Society. After touring the old, weird, and exotic, go check out the new and exotic.
Saturday-Sunday, June 11th & 12th, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Free with admission.
Anyone a fan of Hemerocallis and Amaryllis? The Southern California Hemerocallis & Amaryllis Society sponsor this annual show in Ayres Hall, featuring educational displays, demonstrations, and, yes, bulbs for sale.
Saturday-Sunday, June 4th & 5th, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Free with admission. For details, visit event Facebook page.
