Take a leisurely 3.7 mile walk through northwest Pasadena, which will feature historic landmarks and important community assets, to benefit Flintridge Center, a 25-year-old nonprofit organization that strives to “create profound and lasting change through programs that combat the effects of poverty and violence.”
Walk Northwest is an annual fundraising event with proceeds used “to create opportunities for community members in highest need, highest risk circumstances in northwest Pasadena and west Altadena,” says Jaylene Moseley, President of Flintridge Center. The organization offers youth mentoring, after school and summer programs, preparation for construction trade apprenticeships, gang intervention, and reentry services to help reduce recidivism.
People may register to walk, start a team, join a team, support a walker, or volunteer their time to the event.
