For this year’s gala, the South Pasadena Educational Foundation is upping the ante.
The venue: Arroyo Seco Golf Course. Close your eyes and imagine Paris; imagine harder and you’ll see the sweeping the lawns of Versailles. (No? Help yourself to another complimentary cocktail.)
The cuisine: Twenty-two local eateries, such as Charlie’s Trio (the name honors the grandfather, father and son team who started the business), Gus’ BBQ in South Pas., and Crêpe Studio with their new location in Old Pasadena will have booths from which guests can nibble and feast.
For a price: A silent auction will be set up and a live auction conducted. One item on auction is a twofer from two SPEF board members. One member is an art historian and will conduct a personalized tour of the Norton Simon Museum in regard to art of a specific era. This will be paired with a chef from Urban Kitchen who will lead the auction winner and guest through the makings of a delicious dinner, followed by the consumption of said meal, bien sûr.
The sound: Herick Serna is a father of children in the SPUSD schools and headlines as DJ Herick Hell. He will be the evening’s DJ, an encore after his inaugural launch at last year’s gala.
All proceeds benefit the South Pasadena Unified School District.
