Operation Santa

Nov 19, 2012

The Pasadena Jaycees are gearing up for Santa.

For 78 years, letters have been received and read, toy drives have been organized, funds raised, houses mapped out, and on Christmas, Eve Santa and Mrs. Claus visit children with gifts in hand.

For Operation Santa to be a success, volunteers are needed. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening during the month of December volunteers are needed to read and categorize the children’s letter.

People will also be needed for the morning of Sunday, December 23rd to sort toys.

On the evening of Christmas Eve, volunteers are needed to help Santa deliver toys. Each Santa will be sent out with a partner (either a Mrs. Claus or an elf), an allotment of toys, and about 30 addresses to visit. Check-in is earlier in the day, then each team should be in costume by 4:30 p.m., depart around 5 p.m., and be finished with their rounds no later than 9 p.m. Lunch and dinner will be provided.

Over 3,500 children will be visited and receive gifts from Santa.
