Cool down those engines—the South Coast Air Quality Management District is bringing its Electric Lawnmower Exchange program to Pasadena. It allows participants to trade in their old gas-powered mowers for non-polluting electric models. It provides a great way to save money while helping clean the air. Rechargeable, cordless electric mowers will be available for purchase at a considerable discount, with the trade-in of a working gas mower.  This year,there will be five models to choose from. The organizers say the exchange process will be drive-through quick.

The AQMD will also be hosting a free Go Green Expo in conjunction with the Lawnmower Exchange. Even if you don’t have a lawnmower to exchange, stop by and pick up information on eco-friendly lawn care.
