Moser’s efforts grew into a space where mother’s could find friendship, support, and encouragement, as well as social interactions for their children. Her vision is still alive and thriving at Mother’s Club Family Learning Center.
On October 22nd, they will be celebrating their 50th anniversary. The evening (at its “sustainable learning center”) will be an expanded and diverse tasting party that will feature food stations and signature cocktails provided by local eateries such as a/k/a (An American Bistro), Amy’s Patio Cafe, Green Street Restaurant, Noor, Pie ‘n Burger, The Spot Gourmet Catering, Sugar Fix Desserts, Tender Greens and Toro Sushi.
For families living in isolation and poverty, this learning center’s uniqueness lies in its two-generational approach. Programs include quality, research-based early childhood education for children up to age 5, and services for parents such as adult literacy and continuing education, leadership training, vocational exploration, mental health support and parenting skills classes.
Mother’s Club believes that when a mother learns or strengthens the skills she needs to create a healthy stable household, and her formal education is continued and furthered, then her children’s quality of life and future educational success are increased significantly. Come celebrate 50 years and counting.
