CSC: A Night in Casablanca

Mar 23, 2016

Casablanca-movie-stillCancer Support Community Pasadena is such an important resource for people who are going through cancer treatment,” says cancer survivor Vicki Laidig. “It even offers support for their children and caregivers.”

CSCP provides a unique community of social and emotional support where people can meet others who are facing similar challenges and not feel alone. It offers educational workshops, exercise programs, support groups, social events and more.

CSCP helped me through a very difficult time in my life and I still meet for lunch every month or two with the women who were in my support group 12 years ago. What I got from CSCP was priceless; an exercise program I could maintain, a new community of friends , and a feeling of hope. And, they offer their services for FREE thanks to a variety of fundraising efforts like Ladies Night Out and the Annual Angel Gala.

This year’s Angel Gala is being held in the Art Deco room at Union Station on April 9. Everyone is welcome to join the fun of Casablanca Night at Rick’s Cafe by dressing up in 40’s attire, dancing the night away to a swing band, and participating in CSCP’s silent and live auctions. Some gaming tables will be available for one’s gambling pleasure.

Certain auction items may be bid on now. These include a dinner for 12 of your friends by Brandmeyer Catering at the fabulous home of Diane and Sam Nicholson’s home above the Arroyo (see editor’s note below), 4 nights on the Big Island in Hawaii, and dinner for two at The Palm Restaurant in downtown L. A. and 2 tickets to Kobe Bryant’s last game before retiring—wow!

CSCP’s 24th Annual Angel Gala: A Night in Casablanca
Saturday, April 9th, 6:30 p.m.
Union Station, 800 N. Alameda St., L. A.
Cost: $250 per individual ticket; tables and sponsorships available
For complete details, visit A Night in Casablanca

Editor’s note: For those interested in bidding on the dinner for twelve at Diane and Sam Nicholson’s home, that was the location for last fall’s CSCP’s “Ladies Night Out” fundraiser. We can attest that the location and premises are outstanding in every way, and Diane and Sam are impeccable and affable hosts.

The following photos were taken at the CSCP’s “Ladies Night Out Goes to Carnivale” event in October 2015. Enjoy the Nicholson home, including several large works by Sam Nicholson…
