Clean ‘er Up!

Arroyo in Springtime by Karen Winters

Remember what weekends were all about when we were kids? “Go clean your room!”

Well, now that we’re the grownups, it’s time to clean up a different kind of “room”—a part of our valued domain, the Central Arroyo Seco.

This Sunday, Arroyo Seco Foundation volunteers are cleaning up a stretch of this popular natural space, and they invite you to join them.

The Arroyo is a place many of us frequent for exercise and socialization. It is also the perfect place to de-stress, let go of our hectic lives for a while, re-energize and be nourished by nature’s beauty.

Tim Martinez (ASF Outreach Coordinator) is leading the cleanup effort and may even raise our IQ a few points by identifying the varied native plants along the way—not bad for a Sunday!

Dress in work clothes, pack water and don’t forget that hat or sunscreen (beauty secret #1). Tools and bags will be provided.

Mother Nature and the Arroyo Seco—which has been called the most celebrated canyon in Southern California—thank you, one and all.
