This may be a controversial post for those who don’t believe in “choice,” but our exposure to Planned Parenthood—in regard to annual check ups, health exams, and gynecological appointments—goes back decades and travels from coast to coast, so we are here to encourage those who support the work of Planned Parenthood to dig into their pocketbooks and pull out their wallets.
Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley is celebrating the organizations 80th anniversary with a cocktail reception, a dinner, and none other than Cecile Richards as the keynote speaker. If you follow women’s rights and political intrigue, you’ll remember Tuesday, June 25, 2013, when Richards addressed the hundreds of people crowding the walkways that surround the rotunda in Forth Worth, Texas—as inside the chamber State Senator Wendy Davis filibustered a restrictive abortion bill.
All eyes were on Richards as she received—a passed on—the news that the session had run out and a vote on the bill had been averted (or diverted, as a later special session convened by Governor Rick Perry would actually pass House Bill 2).
To show your support and fund the ongoing efforts of Planned Parenthood, a cocktail reception and dinner with Cecile Richards is bound to be a night to remember.
