Remember how 2011 came to a tumultuous end with the hurricane-force windstorm hitting right between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Exactly— who could forget. According to the City of Pasadena, 1,500 street trees were uprooted and lost.

Now, the Odwalla juice company is awarding (10) $10,000 grants to plant trees across the country. The Windstorm Tree Fund for Pasadena has been nominated to be one of the lucky recipients.

But note: winners are determined by how many votes are cast online—before May 30th.

You can go to, click on VOTE and choose the “Pasadena Windstorm Replacement Project” video. You can only vote once.

The City of Pasadena is urging everyone to spread the word about this via email, Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media (or old-fashioned media like the landline!).

For more info, you can call the Pasadena Parks and Natural Resources at 626.744.3846.
