For some, being a leader may come naturally, but generally it’s something that needs to be taught and fine-tuned.
Leadership Pasadena is a nonprofit organization that offers a program which provides the “leadership and team management skills, in-depth understanding of the Pasadena community, and relationships with business, government, and nonprofit leaders vital to successful community engagement.”
The program allows participants to see and more fully understand how the City of Pasadena works, is governed, and its key players and departments. It will address confidence, how to create effective working relationships, and strategies for addressing problems and creating solutions.
On Tuesday, July 24th, LP is holding a “Summer Informational Breakfast.” Here you can learn about their upcoming program that runs from September through April (it begins with a weekend retreat). Afterwards, participants meet one weekend a month at different locations in order to engage with various government, business and nonprofit leaders.
Project teams are formed, a community issue is chosen, and using the tools learned, participants follow through culminating in a public presentation.
