Storm & Lakeside

Jun 28, 2015

600px-PIA03445Storm

Mother Nature in pain.
Throws new red shiny stiletto heels across the sky.
Smacks Santa Ana’s face:

Eyes blacken, mouth swells, sneezes, coughs.
Santa Ana up chucks fast-moving frosty wind.
Howl loud and long. Cause sleepless nights.
Uprooted age old trees drop like matchsticks.

Electric lines snap spin spread darkness.
Red-eyed candle light welcome morning.
Santa Ana whistles. Spot mother waiting
Arms folded.

Mother Nature beckons   whispers

           Enough!

         Lakeside

           Beneath plump grey clouds

she sits in the shade of her memories

slivers of sunlight shadow

pierce underwater sky.
