From science and art we move smoothly to literature and art — the same night as the Caltech talk about science and art, a new reading series launches at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. Called Written in California, the series kicks off with readings by three poets published by Red Hen Press, which recently moved to Pasadena. The word artists appearing that evening are: Eloise Klein Healy, grand prize winner of the Los Angeles Poetry Festival; Brendan Constantine, a 2002 nominee for Poet Laureate of California; and Douglas Kearney, winner of the prestigious Whiting Award.

Admission to the reading, which is co-sponsored by Vroman’s, is free, and if you come an hour early, the galleries are open for a mere $5. The Millard Sheets exhibit is well worth some time.
