A vineyard once thrived on the ranch land that is now The Huntington.
Jennifer Allan Goldman, a curator of the current exhibit “Cultivating California: Founding Families of the San Marino Ranch,” will give a talk about the property’s agricultural past this Wednesday, March 20th.
According to Matt Hormann, “from the 1850s until the 1880s, the San Gabriel Valley was by far the largest wine-producing region in the state.” (“The Bordeaux That Nearly Was“)
This talk shall be followed by a discussion of local California wines and (yay!) a tasting led by wine expert Brad Owen.
