redwhite+bluezz, in addition to being somewhat difficult to type properly, is building something of a following—both as a jazz club with a regularly excellent lineup, and as a good restaurant with an interesting and reasonable wine list. You’ll find the full weekend schedule below, but the highlights look to be Ken Song on Friday and Joe LoPiccolo on Saturday, jazz guitarists both. Song just released his debut CD, Goin Wes’, which is garnering strong reviews and has cemented his status as a youngin’ to watch. LoPiccolo has been around a little longer. He’s a ten-time ASCAP Plus Award recipient and a Guitar Player Magazine “Reader’s Challenge” winner, and he recently collaborated with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. Come for the jazz, stay for the Kurobuta ribeye chop.
