The former First Lady surely needs no introduction. She lived in the White House for eight years, and then she wrote a book — a memoir. She’s famously private, so the book’s supposed candor could be a pleasant surprise. One thing: She still, of course, gets Secret Service protection, so the rules for attending her book signing are a bit stricter than usual — check them out here. Over at Red Hen, we got a note from Vroman’s, our neighbors, informing us of the former First Lady’s visit and basically letting us know that Tuesday is not a good day to go around yelling “BOMB” in the Playhouse District.
The day after Mrs. Bush’s signing, Vroman’s will be hosting Justin Halpern, of the Twitter feed @shitmydadsays (not to be confused with @shitmydeadsays, which I looked at first accidentally and found mildly alarming), which is now a book, Sh*t My Dad Says. Halpern’s dad is… colorful, to put it mildly. And hilarious. I’d quote him, but the Secret Service might come calling. Better to check out the feed and/or the book for yourself.
