"The Last Full Measure of Devotion" – Abraham Lincoln at the Huntington

Feb 5, 2009

Everyone around here knows the Huntington Library is one of the best archives in the nation. We always knew it had a million magnificent things, but did you know that its collection on Abraham Lincoln is right up there with those of the Library of Congress and the Lincoln Presidential Library? Awesome. In light of the 200th anniversary of the birth of said President Lincoln, the library is displaying its extensive Lincoln-related holdings. In particular, the exhibition focuses on the role of the collector in maintaining Lincoln’s legacy and creating his mythology. As with most Huntington exhibitions, we know it will be fantastic. Be sure to check the website for special Lincoln events, such as curator tours and lectures.
