Vive la France!

Looking to brush up on your history and your French at the same time? A lecture this Friday at the Alliance Française de Pasadena will help you with both. Lucien Laude, besides being a professor at USC’s Doheny Eye Institute and a patent holder on “NANOSCALE SURFACE ACTIVATION OF SILICONE VIA LASER PROCESSING,” has a keen interest in the history of French settlers all over the world. And he wants to share that knowledge with you. In French. If you speak the language, this ought to be a fascinating lecture. The years it covers, 1750-1850, are fertile with the untold stories of forgotten American populations, the French among them.
