The summer season is bringing four new shows to the Pasadena Museum of California Art, starting with a recently opened exhibit of the work of five seminal faculty members from the early years at UC Davis: Robert Arneson, Wayne Thiebaud, Manuel Neri, Roy De Forest and William T. Wiley. Equally compelling is the exhibit called Edith Heath: Tabletop Modernist, showcasing the tabletop ceramic art of midcentury modern icon Edith Heath, whose studio and factory in Sausalito is a destination for ceramics lovers. (Warning: You’ll want to head west to the new Heath Ceramics showroom on Beverly after seeing this exhibit.)
In the Back Gallery is a new show of Benny Chan’s aerial photography called TRAFFIC!, and it’ll give you a perspective on Southern California’s driving culture that you haven’t seen before. Finally, in the smaller Project Room you’ll discover an intense and dynamic three-dimensional painting, Parallel Deliria Iteration, by Annie Lapin.
