Still Looking for that Steinway, so Come for Dinner!

May 18, 2016

Steinway_grand_piano_interiorThe St Luke’s Episcopal Church Choir will present its fourth annual fundraiser to help purchase a Steinway concert grand piano for the sanctuary on Saturday, May 21, at 5 p.m.

Dinner will be served in Guild Hall at the church, 122 S. California Avenue at Foothill Boulevard in Monrovia. The show, directed by St. Luke Music Director Kent B. Jones, will follow in the sanctuary, a space legendary for its acoustics. An array of musical styles will be heard, performed by members of the choir plus several special guests.  Wine and dessert will follow in the garden.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the door. Reservations are highly recommended; email jklauer@gmail.com or call Kelly Lauer at (626) 905-5247.

About St. Luke’s:
Celebrating its 125th anniversary in Monrovia this year, St. Luke’s Episcopal is an inclusive church that welcomes all to its community. The superb acoustics of the landmark 1924 Romanesque church make it a popular site for music performances. Eucharist services are held on Sundays at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m. The Reverend Neil Tadken is Rector. The church’s website is saintlukesmonrovia.org.
